UK: Giant Bee Swarm Engulfs Pedestrian Crossing Outside Leeds Station

A giant swarm of bees engulfed a pedestrian crossing outside Leeds Station in northern England on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, May 25, completely covering the crossing button on New Station Street and forcing commuters to dodge the insects. According to the British Beekeepers Association, the bees were likely clustering around their queen while scout bees searched for a new nesting site.

NAGASAKI, Japan - American veterans Richard Ellett (C), John Bankston (R) and Terry Brady, who are board members of the Radiated Veterans of America, lay a wreath at the Hypocenter Cenotaph in Nagasaki on April 12, 2011, for the victims of the 1945 U.S. atomic bombing. Bankston (85) was in Nagasaki after the bombing as a member of the Allied Forces that occupied Japan that surrendered in World War II.
