Japan: Dashcam Captures Truck Crash on Expressway, Cargo Flies into Opposite Lane

Just after 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, a medium-sized cargo truck collided with the central divider on the Tohoku Expressway in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture, causing the gas cylinders it was carrying to fall and involved three vehicles traveling in the opposite lane. A dashcam in one of the vehicles on the opposite lane captured the accident, showing the truck kicking up a cloud of dust and its cargo flying across to the other side.

MORIOKA, Japan - Four men were injured, one seriously, Dec. 12 in a pileup involving about 30 vehicles on the Tohoku expressway in Iwate Prefecture, police say. A large truck collided into an express highway bus bound for Sendai from Odate, Akita Prefecture, at around 8:50 a.m. in the town of Ashiro, and other vehicles, including trailers and passenger cars, became involved in a chain collision, the police said.
