Japan: Heavy Snowfall Hits Sea Of Japan Coast

Heavy snowfall has battered a wide area of Japan, especially the Hokuriku region along the Sea of Japan coast. In Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, the amount of snow that fell over a 24-hour period until 3 a.m. reached 57 centimeters, marking the highest recorded snowfall for February in history.
