Toyota releases special edition cars to mark dealership founding

NAGOYA, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. has released a string of special edition cars to mark the 60th anniversary of its Toyota dealership and the 50th anniversary of its Toyopet dealership. Shown in handout photo is a 50th anniversary edition of the Mark X sedan. The car has been given various features to bolster its luxurious image, such as the replacement of interior panels with those having a wood-grain pattern.

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows two of eight classic cars put on display at Tokyo's Hibiya Park on Oct. 18 by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association ahead of the 39th Tokyo Motor Show due to start on Oct. 22. The eight vintage cars, dating back to the 1950s to 1970s, included Toyota Motor Corp.'s 1956 Toyopet Crown RSD, a then rare domestically built passenger car, and Nissan Motor Co.'s 1973 Skyline 2000 GT-R Hardtop.
