KYIV, UKRAINE - APRIL 30, 2024 - The dismantling of the monument commemorating the Pereiaslav Agreement, an official meeting that convened for a ceremonial pledge of allegiance by Cossacks to the Tsar of Russia in the town of Pereiaslav, central Ukraine, in January 1654, begins under the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People, formerly known as the Peoples Friendship Arch, Kyiv, capital of Ukraine.
