Ten Women Honoured On Rue De La Chapelle - Paris

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, ten gilded statues were erected in honour of women who have made significant contributions to French history in the fields of science, the arts, literature, politics and sport. The monumental statues appeared alongside the River Seine, at the foot of the Pont Alexandre III bridge, while Axelle Saint-Cirel sang La Marseillaise from the roof of the Grand Palais. Entitled “Sororité” (Sisterhood), the spectacle was conceived by Thomas Jolly as a tribute to the feminist movement.
