On the evening of May 21, 2026, violent clashes erupted near the Canal Saint-Martin and Quai de Valmy in Paris's 10th arrondissement, as approximately 100 OGC Nice supporters confronted Paris ultras the night before the Coupe de France final between OGC Nice and RC Lens. Six people were injured and 65 arrested.

Players fled to the locker rooms as riot police intervened. Referee Stéphanie Frappart called off the match on security grounds. The incident appeared to be a protest against the club's relegation after a dismal season in which Nantes won just five of 33 league games.
