KYOTO, Japan - A ceremony to mark the completion of repair work on Byodoin Temple's Amidanyorai statue, a national treasure dating back to the 11th century, is held at the temple in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, on Aug. 30. Repairs on the 2.8 meter-tall wooden statue were conducted for the first time in about 50 years.
