On January 8, 2026, a fast-moving forest fire ripped across mountainsides in Pingshan District, Shenzhen, sending thick orange flames and dark smoke over nearby roads and buildings. The fire broke out near Shenzhen Technology University. Emergency, fire, and police teams were mobilized immediately. No casualties were reported.
