The event commenced with a video message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Emphasizing the importance of yoga, Modi said that it has created a healthy and powerful society where the collective energy was much more. Starting in 2015, the International Day of Yoga is celebrated on June 21 annually. It was proposed by India and was adopted by the United Nations in the form of a resolution in December 2014. The celebration was also observed across India, with senior leaders and federal ministers leading yoga sessions. Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from New Delhi. (XHTV)
