The black stork, sometimes called the "panda of the birds," is under first-class state protection in China. SOUNDBITE (Chinese): LI WANZENG, Ranger "In the spring of 2018, the black stork couple chose to nest here. They hatched three baby birds in 2021, four in 2022, and five this year."
