The worst affected area is the Demak regency with more than 22,000 people reportedly taking temporary shelter due to the floodwater. According to the Demak Disaster Mitigation Agency, 89 villages in 11 subdistricts were inundated with depths ranging from 30 to over 80 centimeters.
