Opera conductor Wakasugi dies at 74

TOKYO, Japan - Opera conductor Hiroshi Wakasugi (file photo taken in 1997) died on July 21 of multiple organ failure at a Tokyo hospital. He was 74. Wakasugi was the artistic director of the New National Theatre since 2007 and was a professor emeritus at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
