Annual peace march begins in Okinawa

NAHA, Japan - A three-day peace march begins in Okinawa Prefecture on May 13 to mark the 33rd anniversary on May 15 of the U.S. reversion of the prefecture to Japan in 1972. In the 28th march sponsored by the Okinawa Heiwa Undou Center, a local peace group, a total of 10,000 people will walk around U.S. military bases and World War II battle sites to call for peace, organizers said.
