The Transfer Fire broke out near Lake Chelan, Washington, on Sunday, July 12, prompting a Level 3 "get out now" evacuation order that afternoon. Chelan County lowered the order to Level 2 around 6 p.m., and fire crews confirmed the blaze was fully extinguished by about 9 p.m. Some roads remained affected by heavy fire traffic. The cause is still under investigation.

US: Smoke From Wildfires Blankets Central Washington Sky Amid Red Flag Warning

Wildfires, including the Labor Mountain Fire and Lower Sugarloaf Fire, have raged in Chelan County, central Washington, as of Thursday, September 25. Smoke from the fires covered the sky in Wenatchee. A Red Flag warning was in effect due to strong winds and dry conditions, prompting authorities to expand Level 3 evacuation areas due to the blazes.
