Several people work in the extinguishing works, on July 30, 2025, in A Cañiza, Pontevedra, Galicia (Spain). The municipality of Pontevedra recorded two simultaneous fires, which started on Wednesday afternoon. One of them, in the parish of O Couto, has forced to decree the 'Situation 2' as a preventive measure, due to the proximity to houses in the core of Nogueiró. According to the Consellería do Medio Rural, the fire started at 16.23 hours and, according to the latest provisional estimates has already burned about 100 hectares. The second of the fires in this locality, according to sources of the autonomous department consulted by Europa Press, has originated in the parish of Oroso, in A Cañiza, about 16.14 hours and there is still no estimate of the affected area.
