Hitachi to release 50-, 60-inch plasma TVs

TOKYO, Japan - Hitachi Ltd. on Sept. 26 unveiled the 50- and 60-inch models in its Wooo series of plasma television sets for digital high-definition broadcasts, hoping to bring its TV business into the black. The 50-inch W50P-HR10000 and 60-inch W60P-XR1000, both equipped with built-in hard disk recorders, will be put on the market in mid-November and late December, respectively, Hitachi said.
