Nissan launches all-new X-Trail SUV in Japan

TOKYO, Japan - Toshiyuki Shiga, chief operating officer of Nissan Motor Co., stands by the company's new X-Trail sport utility vehicle during a presentation in Tokyo on Aug. 22. The new SUV, powered by either a 2.0-liter or 2.5-liter engine, is sold at suggested retail prices ranging from 1,995,000 yen to 2,530,500 yen.

3 fuel cell cars begin 1,100-km demonstration run

TOKYO, Japan - Fuel cell-powered vehicles from Toyota Motor Corp, Nissan Motor Co. and Honda Motor Co. leave the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Tokyo on Nov. 11, 2009, for a 1,100-kilometer run to Fukuoka to demonstrate that they can go as far as gasoline-powered cars on a single fueling. Toyota's FCHV-adv, Nissan's X-Trail FCV and Honda's FCX Clarity will be used in the event.

TOKYO, Japan - Nissan Motor Co. said Dec. 8 it will begin leasing its 2003 model X-Trail FCV (shown), a fuel cell vehicle approved by the government in November. Leasing will begin by the end of next March, the automaker said.
