A large underwater cage for farming tuna in the sea is around 50 meters deep with a diameter of around 50 meters. Usually, about 1,000 tunas are swimming inside, varying in size and weight. Bluefin tunas farmed in Malta are mainly exported to Japan. The tuna farming cost has been raised due to the increase in expenses such as fuel, labor and feed fish this year.
