China: Yellow Haze Engulfs Xinjiang City During Sandstorm

On March 26, 2025, in Hetian, located in northwestern China’s Xinjiang province, a video captured a powerful sandstorm blanketing the city in a dense yellow haze. Shot from a high-rise building at 6:58 p.m., the footage shows near-zero visibility. The storm was so intense that the roads, cars, and surroundings were barely distinguishable. Vehicles driving with headlights on could be seen struggling through the dust, with visibility reduced to less than five meters. The entire city appeared to be engulfed in a scene resembling the end of the world. Chinese netizens were shocked by the apocalyptic atmosphere.
