TOKYO, Japan - Ajinomoto Co. President Norio Yamaguchi (L) and Yamaki Co. Ajinomoto, Japan's largest seasoning maker, plans to acquire a 33.4 percent stake in Yamaki, based in the city of Iyo, Ehime Prefecture, by the end of March 2007.

Yamaki Kanko's land-based rainbow trout farming system

Yamaki Kanko (Agano City, Niigata Prefecture) has started rainbow trout farming on the premises of its own hotel, Yasuda Onsen Hotel Yasuragi, in the same city. A completely enclosed land-based aquaculture system was installed in a former tile factory building, and the trout are raised using hot spring water. The salmon farmed by the hotel will be served to guests under the name "Yutaka Salmon. The aquaculture system was developed by Kasai (Akiba Ward, Niigata City), a company that deals with drainage systems, etc. Using the Internet of Things (IoT), the hydrogen ion concentration (pH) and dissolved oxygen concentration in the tank can be remotely controlled by Kasai staff. The decision to build the aquaculture system was made after a Yamaki Kanko representative visited the company's booth at an exhibition held in 2018, where the company exhibited a system for aquaculture farms.
