Brick-red train to mark centenary of Tokyo Station

TOKYO, Japan - East Japan Railway Co. announces on Sept. 3, 2014, in Tokyo that it will decorate one of its 11-coach trains running on Tokyo's Yamanoto Line with a brick-red design, like this artist's image, between October and next March as part of an event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Tokyo Station on Dec. 20. Train supporting Japan's Olympics team begins running in Tokyo

A train decorated with photos, messages and other items in support of Japanese athletes at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics is unveiled to the press in Tokyo on Aug. 1, 2016, ahead of the Summer Games starting Aug. 5. The train, whose floor is designed after venues for track and field, volleyball and other Olympic events, began running on the JR Yamanoto Line in Tokyo as a special service until Aug. 25. On Aug. 26, the train's decorations will be revamped in support of Japanese athletes taking part in the Paralympics in Rio and it will run on the loop line until Sept. 15. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
