Journalist, activist Matsui dies at 68

TOKYO, Japan - Yayori Matsui (file photo), a noted journalist and activist, died of liver cancer on Dec. 27. She was 68. After retiring from the Asahi Shimbun, Matsui served as chairwoman of Violence Against Women in War-Network Japan, a group that supports women victimized by Japan's military sexual slavery before and during World War II.
