The sky turned eerily dark as the season’s first typhoon neared, creating a heavy, ominous atmosphere. The storm made landfall around 11 p.m. on June 13 along the coast of Dongfang, a city in Hainan, with winds reaching up to 30 meters per second and a central pressure of 980 hPa. Heavy rain swept through southern parts of the island, with some areas experiencing torrential downpours and localized extreme rainfall.
