Japanese WW2 soldier's diary published in English

TOKYO, Japan - Yohei Ichikawa shows pictures of his uncle Genkichi Ichikawa, a former Imperial Japanese Army soldier who died at age 23 in the 1944 Battle of Saipan during World War II, at his home in Shizuoka, central Japan, in this file photo taken in April 2014. Genkichi's diary about his life on the island of Saipan has been translated into English and published in the United States.
