YONAGO, Japan - Members of the Air Self-Defense Force at the Miho ASDF base in Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture, undergo snow-clearing training on Dec. 17 in preparation for the coming snow season. The ASDF snow-clearing unit is in charge of keeping the runway at Yonago airport, which is used by the ASDF and civilian aircraft, operational during snowfall. Last winter, the Miho ASDF snow-clearing unit was deployed for only four days because of warm weather.
