US: Several Inches of Snow Forecast for NYC, Prompting Travel Warnings Across City 3

A winter storm warning was issued for parts of New York as a powerful system moved into the Tri-State area on Friday, December 26. In response to the conditions, a state of emergency has been declared in both New York and New Jersey. 5 to 9 inches of snow were expected, and NYC's Department of Emergency Management issued a travel advisory, warning that roads would become slick.

Pro-Palestinian protesters briefly disrupted a University of Michigan graduation ceremony at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, May 4. Planes flew over the stadium with the message, "Divest from Israel now! Free Palestine!" and "We stand with Israel. Jewish lives matter."

Pro-ceasefire demonstrators held a protest during this year's Academy Awards ceremony, March 10. The pro-Palestinian protesters calling for the immediate ceasefire of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war disrupted traffic on the main road to the Dolby Theater, causing the delay of the arrival of some of the big stars. They reached the red carpet but were met by anti-riot police.
