The paintings are the works of Hala Zuriqi, a female artist, who was forced to flee her home in Taiz due to the civil war. As many of her paintings had been destroyed in the war, she spent more than three years re-drawing them. The war and hardship in Yemen have made its artists produce more works. If there was no war, I could not be able to paint these scenes that depict displacement, poverty, famine
