Mexico: Heavy Rainfall Triggers Severe Flooding Across Guadalajara Metro Area

Heavy rainfall over the weekend caused severe flooding across Guadalajara's metropolitan area. The storm also downed dozens of trees, disrupted public transport, and temporarily closed major roads. Some areas recorded rainfall in a few hours equivalent to an entire month's average for May.

On Wednesday, August 20, intense rainfall triggered severe flooding across the Guadalajara metropolitan area in Jalisco, Mexico. The floods disrupted transport, stranded vehicles, and damaged at least 51 homes, according to municipal reports.
