Ex-U.S. serviceman ordered to pay damages over robbery-murder

YOKOHAMA, Japan - A supporter of relatives of Yoshie Sato, who was killed and robbed in 2006 by a former U.S. serviceman, displays a banner announcing victory in a damages suit against him in front of the Yokohama District Court on May 20. The court ordered 24-year-old William Reese to pay 65 million yen (about $680,000) in compensation to the relatives.
