Albatross helps Ueda win Mizuno Classic

SHIMA, Japan - Japan LPGA Money rankings leader Momoko Ueda is all smiles with her trophy in hands after winning the Mizuno Classic at Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club on Nov. 4. Ueda made an albatross on the seventh hole in shooting a final-round 66 that gave her a two-shot victory over Sweden's Maria Hjorth and Reilley Rankin of the United States who shared second place.

Japan, U.S. to study ecology of short-tailed albatross

WASHINGTON, United States - Photo taken in March 2000 on Torishima Island, south of Tokyo, shows short-tailed albatrosses, one of three North Pacific species listed as endangered under the World Conservation Union.
