OKAYAMA, Japan - The world conference on Education for Sustainable Development, or ESD, starts in the western Japan city of Okayama on Nov. 5, 2014, with some 2,000 people from around 100 nations participating. The conference will move to Nagoya, central Japan, on Nov. 10-12 for a plenary session and a ministerial meeting, with the aim of fostering personnel who will work for global issues, such as peace, poverty and environment.
