Cherry blossoms in Nara Prefecture are in full bloom, and deer were seen enjoying the blossoms on Sunday, April 5. In Nara Park, where over 1,000 wild sika deer considered sacred in Shinto tradition freely roam, deer are frequently spotted in spring eating fallen cherry blossom petals from the ground as well as flowers blooming directly on the branches.
