Nepali florists pluck the Marigold flower from a field in outskirts of Kathmandu and load it into "Doko" a traditional container made up of bamboos to ferry it to local market for Tihar Festival which starts from Sunday (23 October, 2022). The Tihar festival also observed as Diwali in India sees high demand of flowers specially the marigold which is used to decorate the architectures as well as worship the gods, animals and human. Due to the prolonged and heavy monsoon the production of marigold in Nepal has shrunked in comparison to previous years. With reduction in production, the price of flowers has gone high.
