The Dying salt field

Dying Salt Fields (Miyagi, Kagawa, Ehime) Two-thirds of the nation's salt fields are disappearing. (Includes  scenes of salt fields in their final days in 1959, when two-thirds of the nation's salt fields were to disappear.   In Kagawa, salt overflowed in the open air instead of being stored in warehouses; people changed jobs as salt fields became driving ranges and vacant lots; in Watanoha salt fields, Miyagi Prefecture, young beachcombers changed jobs; women went from cottage industry to big business; old people went into oyster farming. Date of shooting unknown, Release date: September 18, 1959.
