The fossils are of different sizes and unique shapes. SOUNDBITE (Chinese): ZHANG FENG, Chongqing Bureau of Geology and Minerals Exploration "This kind of stones are known as shell limestone, which is made of a dense accumulation of bivalve fossils. Analysis shows that the fossils belong to the early Jurassic period. The findings are of great significance to the study of the history and environment of Chongqing Municipality and Sichuan Basin at that time."
