AJIGASAWA, Japan - Sapporo schoolgirl Meiko Tsukamoto wins her first-ever national snowboarding title on March 4 after defeating Japanese national team member Yoko Hata in the final of the women's parallel giant slalom. Tsukamoto, a first-year high school student, won both races against Hata, the winner of the previous day's parallel slalom, to follow up victories over national team members Mayumi Asuke and Ran Iida en route to the final in Ajigasawa, Aomori Prefecture.
