A winter storm sent heavy snow through a house in Hunan on February 4, burying rooms in deep snow. Hundreds of thousands feared dead in Haiti quake

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - Haitians left homeless rest at a park in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Jan. 14, 2010. More than 100,000 may have been killed by a powerful earthquake that hit the Caribbean state on Jan. 12, as major buildings, schools, hospitals and houses collapsed in the capital, burying many people under rubble.

OKAYAMA, Japan - Police searching for two missing 21-year-old men found two bodies at an industrial site (in photo) in the city of Okayama on June 27 after a man arrested for assault confessed to burying them alive there. The two have been missing since last week after being abducted and assaulted by a group of nine people.
