STORY: Hong Kong shines at NYC Times Square New Year's Eve countdown DATELINE: Jan. 1, 2023 LENGTH: 0:01:52 LOCATION: NEW YORK, U.S. CATEGORY: SOCIETY SHOTLIST: 1. various of countdown activities and performances STORYLINE: A Kung Fu Contemporary Circus staged by artists from China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region amazed tens of thousands of people at New York City (NYC)'s Times Square Saturday night by kicking off one of the most famous New Year's Eve countdowns around the globe. Co-organized by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York (HKETONY), the Sino-American Friendship Association and the Times Square Alliance, the performance was themed "Fusion, Motion, Inspiration - Hong Kong Rocks!", showcasing a spectacular blending of dance, Kung Fu, parkour, capoeira and more against a medley of music from the East and West in a brand-new arrangement.
