YANTAI, CHINA - JULY 28, 2023 - A ship is under construction at CIMC Raffles' Shandong Yantai construction base in Yantai city, Shandong province, China, July 28, 2023. From January to June 2023, the three major indicators of China's shipbuilding completions, new orders and hand-held orders were 21.13 million deadweight tons, 37.67 million deadweight tons and 123.77 million deadweight tons, accounting for 49.6%, 72.6% and 53.2% of the world's total, respectively, and 47.3%, 67.2% and 46.8% of the revised total tons. Both ranked first in the world, and China became the only country to achieve comprehensive growth in the three indicators.
