ASEAN foreign ministers show connectedness through road trip

CHIANG KHONG, Thailand - Foreign ministers from the 10 ASEAN member countries join hands in front of a construction site of the No. 4 Bridge of Friendship in Chiang Khong, northern Thailand, on Jan. 24, 2011. The bridge over the Mekong connecting Thailand and Laos is being built with China's financial support. The ASEAN ministers headed for China from Thailand the same day, on a 600-kilometer trip titled ''familiarization road trip to China'' to underlie the geographical proximity of the regions. (Kyodo)
