Girl in Sasebo classmate killing to be institutionalized

SASEBO, Japan - A car carrying an 11-year-old girl charged with killing a classmate in June at their school departs from the Sasebo branch of the Nagasaki Family Court on Sept. 15. The court decided to institutionalize the girl. The decision provides for a compulsory measure where the girl's freedom of movement may be restricted for two years at an institution for the rehabilitation of delinquent children.

Tax agency's 1st Net auction sees bid prices top starting ones

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows a 5.153-carat diamond which fetched the highest successful bid price of 9.66 million yen in the National Tax Agency's first Internet auction held June 5-7 through the Yahoo website.
