TOKYO, Japan - U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage outside the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Dec. 9 after meeting Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda there. PYONGYNAG, North Korea - Former U.S. Army Sgt. Charles Robert Jenkins, the husband of one of five Japanese citizens abducted to North Korea and now back in Japan, said on Nov. 29 in an interview with Kyodo News at a hospital in Pyongyang he feels sorry that he cannot visit Japan because he thinks he will be arrested quickly on a charge of desertion.
