The Highway 82 Fire, a massive wildfire, sparked by a mylar balloon striking a powerline broke out in Brantley County, Georgia, burning more than 22,000 acres and destroying over 100 homes and businesses in communities including Atkinson and Waynesville as of Monday, April 27. Mandatory evacuations were issued for parts of neighboring Glynn County as the flames came within 2.5 miles of the county line.
