Mahdi and a number of family members are injecting medicine into the lambs, so far they have only been breastfed, and they are going to go out with the herd for grazing for the first time, and this medicine will help them digest the fodder. They are one of the Kurdish nomadic families of Kermanj who were forced to migrate from their homeland to these areas to protect the eastern borders of Iran, and during this period they lost many of their cultural characteristics and behaviors. They are animal husbandry now and still speak Kurdish, but the clothes they wear are no longer Kurdish and their behaviors have completely changed and most of them do not even know where their original birthplace was. The cub was born at the safari park in March this year. SOUNDBITE (Chinese): LI YUAN, Breeder at Ordos wildlife park "Before the mother gave birth to this cub, the father had left the mother, so the mother had some impulsive behavior. And the mother coyote failed to recognize this cub. It happened that a goat in our zoo encountered difficulty in giving birth, and after that the baby goat died. And the mother goat had milk, so we brought this mother goat to the coyote cub, and let it suckle at the goat's milk, which is easy to digest. The cub has normal defecation. All its health signs are quite good." Staff members say they will let the coyote pup rejoin the pack when it is old enough to do so.
