Archaeologists Discover New Bones - Waterloo

Archaeologists Discover New Bones - Waterloo

Archaeologists are discovering new bones at Mont-Saint-Jean farm, which served as a field hospital for British troops on 18 June 1815. Archaeologists and volunteers from ‘Waterloo Uncovered’ are searching for human and animal remains and artefacts to find answers about how the soldiers were treated during and after the battle. The archaeological digs on the site of the Battle of Waterloo should provide answers to what happened to the skeletons of thousands of soldiers who died at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Excavations by teams of archaeologists, veterans and volunteers, Waterloo Uncovered association. Waterloo, Belgium, 10 September 2024. Photo by Monasse T/ANDBZ/ABACAPRESS.COM

(240527) -- GARZE, May 27, 2024 (Xinhua) -- Dekyi digs caterpillar fungus in Shade Town, Kangding City, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province, May 23, 2024. From early May to late June every year, caterpillar fungus enters its harvest season in Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province. Found only at high altitudes, caterpillar fungus, known in China as "winter-worm summer-grass," is said to be effective in boosting the immune system. For the locals, collecting this precious fungus offers them seasonal jobs and helps increase their income. In recent years, the average household income could be increased by 20,000 to 60,000 yuan (about 2,760 to 8,282 U.S. dollars) per year by selling caterpillar fungus in Shade Town of Kangding City, one of the main producing
