The bus was traveling from the southeastern province of Diyarbakir to the Bodrum district of the southwestern province of Mugla, it added. According to a source with the Interior Ministry, the demonstrators gathered outside the CBI complex amid a heavy security presence as riot police cordoned off the area. Many demonstrators carried flags and banners, some of which read, "Enough with promises. Devalue the dollar," and another read, "High prices are killing us." BAGHDAD, Iraq - Men shop at an open-door market in Baghdad on Oct. 17. The value of the national currency has fallen to 2,000-2,300 dinar to the U.S. dollar from 1,940 dinar in spring this year, pushing up prices of imports. The price of beef has gone up to 4,000 dinar from 2,500 dinar and that of a packet of U.S. cigarettes to 2,000 dinar from 1,759 dinar. ''The economic sanction is to blame, not our government,'' said an anonymous citizen.
