TOKYO, Japan - People watch a price board as they walk by a brokerage house in Tokyo's Yaesu distcit on July 8. The key Nikkei Stock Average rose 103.56 points to close at 9,898.72, after briedly passing the 10,000 threshold for the first time since August 2002.
