Spain: Forest Fire Rages in Ávila, One Firefighter Killed 2

A wildfire in Cuevas del Valle, in the province of Ávila, Castile and León, has burned approximately 600 hectares. Around 300 personnel have been deployed since the fire began. The flames approached dangerously close to the town of Mombeltrán, prompting the closure of the national highway that runs through the municipality and the imposition of a partial lockdown. One firefighter died in a traffic accident while en route to the scene.
