Aerospace Themed Tourism - China

A tourist enjoys leisure time at a homestay on the beach in Longlou Town of Wenchang City, south China's Hainan Province, Dec. 25, 2025. The Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site located in Wenchang in the northeastern part of Hainan Island is China's first independently designed and constructed green, eco-friendly and modern spaceport. It currently operates two all-weather, multi-directional launch pads, capable of handling heavy payloads. Wenchang is also home to China's first commercial aerospace launch site, which has sent more than 90 satellites into their planned orbits since its maiden launch in November 2024. Highly frequent rocket launches have driven the aerospace-themed tourist services in the city. The rocket-viewing platform there attracts lots of spectators for each launch. China: Golden Retriever Rolls in Snow for Dry Bath

On February 14, 2025, in Liaoning Province in northeastern China, a video captured a golden retriever rolling back and forth in a snowy field. The dog flipped over repeatedly, covering its body with fresh snow. The dog’s fur appeared clean and fluffy as it continued to tumble across the ground, clearly enjoying the motion. Snow scattered around its body each time it turned. The owner explained that the snow in the region is loose and powdery, and that a quick shake removes it without soaking the fur.

China: Dog Pulled to Safety After Falling Into Freezing Lake in Lanzhou

A video from December 13, 2025, in Lanzhou, Gansu, shows a man rescuing a dog trapped in a freezing lake. The dog struggled in the icy water as the man repeatedly threw a lifebuoy from the shore, adjusting his aim each time. The rescue ended successfully when the dog grabbed the lifebuoy and was pulled safely onto land, shaken but alive.

Red Spider Nebula

NIRCam is Webb’s primary near-infrared imager, providing high-resolution imaging and spectroscopy for a wide variety of investigations. Webb’s new view of the Red Spider Nebula reveals for the first time the full extent of the nebula’s outstretched lobes, which form the ‘legs’ of the spider. These lobes, shown in blue, are traced by light emitted from H2 molecules, which contain two hydrogen atoms bonded together. Stretching over the entirety of NIRCam’s field of view, these lobes are shown to be closed, bubble-like structures that each extend about 3 light-years. China: Maritime Patrol Rescues Dog After It Falls Into River in Jiangsu

On November 10, 2025, in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, a video captured a small dog struggling in a river after slipping from a boat. The footage showed the anxious boat owner attempting two separate rescues but failing each time as the dog drifted farther away. A maritime patrol vessel happened to be navigating nearby and quickly noticed the distress. The crew immediately maneuvered closer and used equipment to bring the frightened dog safely aboard.

China: Localized Storm Splits Street in Half With Rain on One Side, Dry on the Other

This is the striking moment that a sudden localized storm turned one street into two distinct weathers, one side was drenched by heavy rain, while the other side remained completely dry. On June 12, 2025, in Shanxi, Taiyuan, the video captured one half of a street was swept by torrential rain, while the opposite side stayed untouched. The pedestrians and quick-moving cars seeking shelter on the rainy side, umbrellas opened hastily. The juxtaposition was startling, raindrops visibly stopped at an invisible boundary, creating two contrasting microclimates within mere meters of each other. The video ended with the camera panning across the street, capturing the stark contrast one last time before the rain slowly faded away.

These soldiers are not nearly as picturesque as their uniforms, which are said to have been designed by either Raphael or Michaelangelo, but whose design was actually produced at the turn of the last century. It is not a simple procedure to become a member of the Guard, which is one of the world's oldest military factions. One must have Swiss nationality, be of the Catholic faith, measure over 1.74 meters in height, and be less than 25 years of age when signing on for the first time. China Launches 3 Astronauts To Tiangong Space Station

The Shenzhou-18 crew opened the hatch at 12:51 p.m. (Beijing Time) and greeted the new arrivals, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA). The six crew members then took group pictures for the fifth space get-together in China's aerospace history. They will live and work together for about five days to complete planned tasks and handover work, the CMSA said.
